Early Years

Our Early Years programme, which covers Foundation Stage 1 and 2, ensures younger children make a positive start on their learning journey. Following the Cambridge Early Years curriculum, we combine the excitement of play with the rigour of early skill development, supporting every child with the warmth and encouragement they need to grow with confidence, curiosity, and joy.

Strong foundations for a bright future.

We believe the earliest years of school should ignite a lifelong love of learning. At Jebel View, the play-based approach within our curriculum is designed to support holistic development, nurturing not just academic foundations, but also social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

Learning in the Early Years is active, dynamic, and relevant. Our classrooms are places of exploration, where children investigate the world through themed activities that connect across different subjects. Reading, phonics, language, mathematics, and Arabic form the core of the curriculum, enriched by art, music, and PE to encourage creativity, self-expression, and physical confidence.

Language development is central to our approach. English is the main language of instruction, while Arabic-speaking students follow the Omani Ministry of Education’s curriculum for Arabic, Social Studies, and Islamic Studies. Non-native Arabic speakers receive tailored support, helping them develop confidence in the language while embracing the culture it represents.

Our teachers know each child as an individual, enabling us to adapt lessons to their needs, spark their interests, and ensure no one is left behind. This personalised attention, supported by small class sizes, helps children develop resilience, collaboration skills, and a sense of belonging from the very start.

Above all, the Early Years at Jebel View is about wellbeing, progress, and happiness. When children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn, they thrive, building the skills, character, and confidence that will carry them through school and beyond.
